Higher Education Forum announces recommendations for digital transformation in universities
Egyptian Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Digital Transformation Hisham Farouk announced the recommendations of the “Forum on Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Age of Digital Transformation”.
The forum was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education over two days in the city of Ain Sokhna, in the presence of officials from public, private, international and technological universities, as well as research institutes.
The forum affirmed the need to meet the information technology needs of the university and provide the appropriate infrastructure that helps them in the digital transformation.
The forum called for the formation of an executive committee to monitor the implementation of the Digital Student initiative plan, which was launched during the forum activities.
The forum confirmed the need to involve foreign and private universities in the digital platform for national projects of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The Ministry of Higher Education should provide technical support to develop a roadmap and define the steps to be followed to achieve digital transformation in educational institutions.
The forum is part of the national digital transformation strategy to achieve the objectives of the sustainable development plan (Egypt Vision 2030).
The forum aims to promote a culture of digital transformation in the university community and present the vision of the university educational environment in the era of fourth generation universities; to ensure that educational institutions continue to do their jobs optimally.
